Arlington Heights police are investigating a sexual assault at an assisted living facility, reports WBBM’s Mike Krauser.

Just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, police say a man climbed through an unlocked first-floor window at the Church Creek Senior Living Facility at Central Road and Dwyer Avenue and sexually assaulted an elderly woman in her residence. The woman was hospitalized.

Residents of the Arlington Heights facility were shocked when they learned what happened. They met with management Friday to talk about security.

Police have not yet released a description of the suspect. The attack came the day before Governor Bruce Rauner signed legislation allowing nursing home residents to have surveillance cameras installed in their rooms.
